I’m playing the catch up game this week because I have a very busy year ahead. The end of last year I was so swamped and I am just trying to get as much done as possible over the next few days.
I don’t really do New Year’s resolutions, but I’m trying to be more responsive when it comes to email because last year . . . my email was out of control. So, I promise to be more responsive this year.
As you know, I was at Seton Hill University last week a guest professor / guest speaker. That was wonderful. It was definitely the start to the year that I needed, filled with joy, inspiration, great people and lots of creativity.
Here are the updates I have thus far.
StoryStudio Chicago
I am very excited to announce that I will be teaching a Novel In a Year at StoryStudio Chicago. You can find all of the details here.
This is an in person course. It’s going to be a lot of fun and I will be drafting a novel alongside with you. Also, this course is not specific to genre, but fiction overall. Still, don’t let that deter you! Join us.
Tour
Some people have asked me about my book tour. I have five books releasing in 2025. I don’t have all of the firm dates, but you can expect releases from me in March, June, September and October . . . and secrets! I will be visiting quite a few states, bookstores, conferences, so much, so stay tuned!
A few events are confirmed and posted on the event organizer websites. Those are on my website. You can find those here. I have a few more items to add soon once those event organizers update their websites.
Blurbs
I’m still *sorta* closed to blurbs. I have three more to get caught up on and then I can check my schedule. I want to help you all, but I also have quite a few deadlines I’m managing this year. SO, I will keep you posted on blurbs and when I can open to them again.

True Crime Monday
Unfortunately, time has crept up on me and I just don’t have the time to keep doing these on Instagram live every Monday and I’m VERY sad about that. I really enjoyed doing these, but I’m just so behind with other things I need to get done and upcoming projects.
I just have so many deadlines that I have to start managing my time a little bit better, and between managing those deadlines and upcoming travel it’s going to be a lot. So, I’m very sorry to all of my true crime friends!
I will however schedule a couple of these far in advance so more of you can attend. These will all be specific to Vanishing Daughters and the true crime cases around those.
Social Media
It looks like a lot of people are leaving Threads and Instagram. My head is spinning with all of these social media changes. I think for now I will leave all of my social media as is and I will make any major decisions about which to keep after March, but I will be reducing some because it’s just a lot.
Short Stories
I’ll pop into the chat I have here on Substack soon to chat about short stories. I have quite a few short stories that I need to write, and so talking about short story mechanics with you all will be fun.
Here are the poetry books I’m reading this week.

I think that’s all I have for this week!
Thanks!
