Happy Easter to all who celebrate π
Letβs start off strong -
Iβm not on Facebook and someone there is impersonating me
It was bound to happen, someone is pretending to be me on social media, on Facebook to be exact. I do not have a Facebook account.
Given there is just too much social media and itβs all quite frankly become too unwieldy to manage, I have further reduced my social media presence to just the following three accounts, Instagram and Substack, and infrequently Flashes / Bluesky.
ACTIVE SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS
Instagram - cynthiapelayoauthor - I will continue to post regularly on Instagram.
Substack - cynthiapelayo - I will continue to share newsletters regularly here on Substack.
Flashes / Bluesky - cynthiapelayo.bsky.social - note, I check Bluesky less frequently and whatever is posted there is whatβs essentially on Instagram.
INACTIVE SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS
Threads - cynthiapelayoauthor - this account is now inactive.
Twitter - cinapelayo - this account is locked and inactive.
TikTok - cynthiapelayoauthor - this account is deleted.
Again, I am on not active on any other social media platforms. I am only active on Instagram and Substack, and infrequently Flashes / Bluesky.
Below is the account impersonating me. If you are on Facebook, please report it.
THIS IS NOT MY ACCOUNT BELOW. IT IS AN IMPERSONATOR.
PLEASE REPORT.
Chicago Tribune
I was in the Chicago Tribune last week and have been meaning to write about it here. As you may have noticed I have been very busy. Admittedly, with five total releases this year, I expect to be operating at this pace all year.
Itβs definitely a dream come true to be profiled in my hometown newspaper. Thank you to journalist Christoper Borrelli. We spent time along Archer Avenue searching for Resurrection Mary, at Resurrection Cemetery, and at Chetβs Melody Lounge which is connected to Resurrection Mary lore.
You can read the full profile here.
Reactor 5 Science Fiction Fantasy Books Set in Chicago
Iβm very happy that I had the opportunity to write for Reactor! You can read my article here, Five SFF Books Set in Chicago.
Author Hour Massachusetts with Christopher Golden
You can watch my discussion with Christopher Golden about the βGolden Age of Horrorβ here.
C2E2
I was on a panel last week at C2E2, Chicagoβs Comic Con, with authors Christina Henry and Veronica Roth on writing fiction based in Chicago. Two of these pictures below are from author Dennis Crosby who stopped by to visit. Thanks, Dennis!

San Antonio Book Fest
I was an attending author at the San Antonio Book Fest. I was on a panel with author Lilliam Rivera titled Thrills and Chills: Horror. Our panel was standing room only!
This was such a great event. Thank you to all of the volunteers and organizers. I had a great time.

Thanks!
